Tuesday in CE9, students were completing their Intro to Internet assignment. Most all of them followed the requirements and they started showing up in my Internet folder in my email. Wednesday we began working on FrontPage. Ms. Hogue taught this portion of the class because she is the expert. It was useful for me to be able to observe her, take notes, and help the students.
In English 11, the quotation response was still bucked by some students on Tuesday. I walked around to ensure that they are actually writing – some were not or had opened up to a different page that looked like they had been writing. Ms. Hogue and I are re-evaluating the process. We began Mary Rowlandson – on the Narrative of her Captivity. This is much easier to read than Bradford, so I had students working on their own. I gave an introduction on the reading first. On Wednesday, I did my first mini-lesson, which was an assignment to learn the Falcon Skills and Style Handbook. It was fairly simple and everybody excelled. Students then continued working on Rowlandson. I think it is going very well. I walked around to help them answer questions from their reading guide and help interpret text.
