I’ve decided that I needed to update my name on my blog. I’ll no longer go as Ms. K: my married name is Mrs. Lux. Mike and I were married on July 26, 2008 at the Delafield Presbyterian Church. It was the perfect size and offered exactly what we wanted in a minister and service. We then celebrated at the Delafield Brewhaus.
The day was absolutely perfect! Mike and I brewed 96 bottles of wine for our guests to take home with them. The tables at the Brewhaus were decorated with beautiful potted gerbera daisy plants. The guests were so much fun and we were blessed to have our closest family and friends there with us. We had a Cadillac Escalade limousine to cart guests and ourselves around, so I finally got my first limo ride.
Mike and I left Sunday for Chicago. We stayed at Hotel 71, right along the river, near Lake Michigan and downtown. We walked a ton, toured the Museum of Science & Industry, the Field Museum, Shedd’s Acquarium, and the Adler Planetarium, drank wine, ate excellent food, and enjoyed each other’s company. The best part, for me, was seeing Wicked at the Oriental Theatre. I highly recommend that everybody try to see the show. The set was breathtaking, and the story was humorous, heartbreaking, and honest.
This is the view from our 26th floor hotel room.
Toasting a glass of wine before our $100 dinner and Wicked.
I LOVE this city! Mike and I outside of Adler Planetarium with a great view of the lake and city skyline behind us. If it weren’t for the hustle and bustle of this city, I would live here!
